I've had a similar experience to may others. Had this product for about 3 years then it started freezinging up in the bottom rear coils, which seems like a very common issue for this product. I had the previous generation model and it lasted for closer to 5 years. Definitely seems like a design issue. Now I have a useless dehumidifier that looks brand new.I'm outside of the 1-year warranty, but I shouldn't have to buy a $300 product every year. We know that previous generation dehumidifiers lasted much longer, so this is clearly a design/quality decision by Frigidaire. Planning to try another manufactuer for it's replacement.

Just purchased/received this dehumidifier (model #: FFAD5033W1) which is the same model number that I purchased almost exactly three years ago. This unit is currently working well. The prior unit worked well for two years/seasons (it is in service in our basement for ~ 5 months each year). Earlier this year it began operating poorly (leaking condensate, coil freezing up etc.); indicative of a refrigerant leak. After reading multiple reviews, this is a common theme for this model and other comparative models. It is ridiculous that these appliances fail/require replacement every one/two/three years. Government regulation to benefit the environment, driving design changes, have backfired resulting in likely tons of refrigerant being leaked into the atmosphere and countless thousands of these "dead" appliances tossed into landfills. Hopefully this new unit will function properly for more than two seasons. My opinion is that a dehumidifier selling at this price point that operates 4-5 months a year should function properly for 10+ years. I expect I will be disappointed. Changes are necessary!

Owned for 1.5 years and throwing EC error code. Guess this is a common issue and is non-repairable. Failure of condenser system. Of course just happened out of the short 1 year warranty. Will not be buying Frigidaire again.

I purchased 2 of these units and spent over $500 dollars on them in June of 2023. In August of 2024 they are both broken :On one unit the coils are freezing and one has an EC code.. I am a senior and really cant afford to spend this kind of mony for something so poorly made. I called customer service that they recommend replacing them. I would never recommend any of your products to anyone.

Bought this for a humid basement and it works awesomely. Put a garden hose on the back and it really pulls the humidity out of the air. Was dumping 1 bucket of water every 18 hrs or so. Easy to use and does the job, can™™t ask for more than that!

Purchased new in 2019, they replaced in 2022 because of faulty compressor. Replacement failed for the same problem and have been told it was under warranty and they will send me another. Have been dealing with there overseas customer service teams for over 2 months and they are giving me the run around... They will not give me a phone number or an individual in the States to talk to. I don't recommend purchasing anything from a company that have a phone number in the USA to be able to talk to.

Used only 4 months last year, it lasted only 2 months this summer. It stopped working 1 month after warranty expired. No help from Frigidaire because I did not purchase extended warranty. I would buy a different brand instead of paying to have someone look at this one, being it could die after another 6 months of use

Replaced my old Honeywell unit with this one and it's done a great job. Filled up the bucket once a day, for the first two days, before I hooked up a short traditional yard hose so it would continuously drain. Pleased after the first few weeks.

This replaced an over-20-year-old Frigidaire dehumidifier which just suddenly buzzed, got hot, and died. That™™s why I chose this brand, because the other one lasted so long. This new one works great; takes water out of the basement air faster than the old one. But when the reservoir is full of water and it needs to be dumped out, I can™™t seem to figure out how to take the water reservoir off the machine without water splashing on the floor. And dumping the water out is difficult, too, as it seems to want to come out of the top in different places. Lots of water gets spilled is my problem. That™™s why I didn™™t give it five stars. Am I supposed to take off all the clear plastic stuff on the top of the bucket? I™™m not mechanically minded and can™™t seem to figure out how to dump out the water without making a mess. It was very easy to dump out my old one. Any suggestions?

Works well. Easy instructions. Only issue is that intake air vent should be on the same side as water tank. Since my unit is against a wall, I have to turn it around to face the room, and then turn it around again to empty the water tank. Inconvenient, but doable.

Never shutoff Very hot air coming out. Read Info on product. Said hot/very warm air comes out of dehumidifier. Supposed to cool compressor. But never shuts off. Basement became very hot. Had to open windows to cool down. Called Frigidaire 800 number. After 31 minute wait. John answered. Asked if he had anyone could advise if anything I could do to get the dehumidifier to shut. Off. John asked for my receipt. Did not have readily available. Said no record of having purchased the dehumidifier and no record of my phone number or email address. Seemed to have implied I was lying. John told me to call back again when I had proof of my purchase date and copy of receipt. John did not provide any info about where I could email the receipt. Told him I bought in July 2024. Told him I sent in the registration form. Said no record and call back when I have some proof. Told Lowe™™s about it. They allowed me to return dehumidifier. This Frigidaire replaced a 70pint model we had working for 10 years Very disappointed in this experience.

I Have 2 Classic Cars I store in a heated garage (built expressly to house the vehicles). I noticed that the Cars' interiors started having a musty smell and I noted what appeared to be mold beginning to appear on the upholstery, (In addition to the Cars' upholsteries, I also noted the same thing happening on a set of leather recliners also in the garage).I installed the Frigidaire Dehumidifier, and within 2 weeks, (and after a good cleaning inside the cars and the furniture), the Musty odor was gone, ane the mold has not reappeared.Thanks for a great solution to my Humidity problem and for providing a GOOD Product at a Reasonable Price.James C. Purchased July 2023, it failed (EC code) in 3 months. Frigidaire sent replacement that failed August 2024 (only used it for 4 months). Frigidaire would not replace or refund. Do not purchase this or any other Frigidaire. Extremely poor products and service!

Since it only has a 1 year warranty we are now without a dehumidifier, since we don't run it in the winter is had only been used about4-5 months before we shut it off than began using it again this summer. For the money I would think we would have gotten several years of use out of it. Very disappointed since this was supposed to be a highly rated unit

Just moved into a new house, and the basement is humid and gross! I knew I had to get it dry down there to even hope it would be nice, and Frigidaire was the company who could get me there. I found a nice Frigidaire dehumidifier that could more than do the job. Got it set up, ran it for a few days, and the basement feels and smells so much better! Thank you Frigidaire!

I™™ve been through four dehumidifier™™s in the last eight years using them in a 1000 square foot finished basement. This is my first Frigidaire dehumidifier, it is a beast and it has been doing a great job over the last couple of weeks. Will have to let you know if it passes the usual two year failure rate.

I purchased this dehumidifier and within 9 months it failed. It was only in operation for 5 of the months as those were high humidity spring/summer months. The unit came with a one year warranty and that has been an ongoing nightmare to get Frigidaire to honor it. Customer service is very difficult to reach a human, they messed up the call many times and finally after numerous calls I was able to get a commitment to replace the unit. The ™ship out a replacement unit in 5 to 7 days™ has turned into over a month and counting for confirmation of a replacement unit. This is totally unacceptable and extremely poor customer service. Meanwhile my basement humidity is way too high. Not endearing me to Frigidaire products.

DO NOT BUY THIS MACINE!!! We have owned two of these dehumidifiers because we foolishly believed. They have not lasted more than two years before they stop working. It is impossible to get service, In any event, Service, if you can find it, or extended warranty will just increase cost by at least 50%. This is all very unfortunate because the thing works very well when it is brand new. It dehumidifies like a charm. But it just does not last. Calling the service number is an exercise in frustration. They give you names of service folks who don't service these. They hang up on you. They wind up telling you that they are sorry, but it's out of warranty and they can do nothing.

My Frigidaire to pint dehumifier is 1 week old and working fine. Much quieter than my prior Haier unit. It keeps my basement at about 50% humidity and doesn't run a lot. Our basement isn't super humid but probably average. Sof far so good.

My dehumidifier ( Model # FFAD5033W1/S.N #KN21205786) Will be two years old in Sep.2024 and the warranty is just for one year.In the last two weeks the code "EC" shows up and it shuts down. Since the manual said it could be a voltage issue, I unplug and plug back and it works for a while and the cycle is repeated after a short time. I am using the same outlet location I have used in the past. I even changed the outlet location and it did not make any difference. Just for info, the filter is clean.I called Frigidaire for help and your agent from the Philippines is telling me " this problem cannot be fixed. buy another one!" .YOUR PRODUCT DIDN'T EVEN LAST TWO YEARS. This unit is amazing! I purchased it for use in downstairs at the beach. With super high humidity, things always felt "damp." Within days and after many times emptying, things are feeling drier. This really takes moisture out of the air and surroundings. Very impressive little unit.

This did not work out well for us at all. The water kept filling the bucket, needing to be emptied manually, instead of going through the hose we attached to make it empty into the drain in our basement floor. Frigidaire made it very difficult to get the unit replaced. They wanted us to prove somehow that it had not been damaged in transit. Eventually, after we jumped through enough hoops, they sent us a new unit. It had the same problem! Finally, we gave up and bought a different brand from a company that had been very dependable in the past. I would not recommend this product or the manufacturer.

I have purchased 4 Frigidaire dehumidifiers over 8 years and they all have preformed as designed thru the warranty period. 2 are less than 4 years old. The other 2 lasted just past the 4 year extended warranty period. I think the 5 year Frigidaire extended warranty is a better deal.

My bad. I did not notice that the model I bought has no pump to remove the water like my old GE dehumidifier. I use it to keep my New England basement dry in the humid summer and I have no sump pit or floor drain in my basement. I do have an open drain pipe for my water softener about 7 feet off the floor. The GE could pump 16 feet, so no problem. Now I am stuck emptying the 2 gallon tank every day or two during the more humid days. I would have given 5 stars if it had a pump.
