Bought it less than a year a ago. One of the burners started malfunctioning. Called the tech support but it was not fixed. Still under warranty but they didn™€™t fix it. Also, the glass surface got a lot of scratches after few months. I am very disappointed with GE as and their costumer service, One start is even too generous.

I got this for very inexpensive after the older better version had an unfortunate, break the iPhone screen, drop the coffee out of the microwave moment. Complete unusual and unfortunate drop/bounce. That being said; it had do be replaced and this was comprisable. So need/price point of comparable and availability dictated purchase in hurry. 30 inch was my cut out. I was very found of how easy to clean an sheik it looks when off. Love GE profile appliance will continue to buy them across the board. For me. Power boil should be separate from the main skillet or the largest on. The 2 sink together make for ok large skillet or smaller boil. The whole right side of the cooktop is empty. Seem unnecessarily busy, with room to spare on the right side.

I find using the controls somewhat awkward. (I had LOVED the way things worked on my old--2003-model.) Changing from HOT to a lower temperature unreliable--sometimes worked, Sometimes not. As per my own safety habit, I was locking the controls after each use--in case something was left atop the cooktop and triggered it on by mistake. But about the third time I did this I COULD NOT GET IT TO UNLOCK! So I flipped off the breaker for the appliance. When I flipped it back, it worked. Now I fear hitting LOCK at all.

Not my old GE Profile

This unit takes an extended time to heat up. It's basically all or none on temperature. Old unit was far better product with better temp control and eye selection. Old unit had 2 eyes for larger pots this one doesn't. Old unit had a three portion built in 1 eye. Not impressed at all. Only thing I like is the sleek appearance. Top is very hard to keep clean. I don't recommend this unit. I should have purchased the less expensive 5 burner cooktop with the unsightly knobs for temp control. I would be really disappointed if I had not gotten this unit on sale. Old Profile lasted 14 years no problems and power outage contributed to its demise.

Slow burning burners and what's with bluetooth?

Everything seems to work OK. It's easy to use. I find that the burners are a bit slow to heat the food in the pan but once they get going they're OK. Some features I don't understand and have entertainment value with my friends....like bluetooth. Why does my stovetop have bluetooth? Remote cooking? Or maybe it gives cooking classes. I haven't figured that out yet. LOL.

Will never purchase GE again!

Deadly warranty rules 10/17/2025

We purchased this cooktop for our newly built home. From the start we had problems with one of the ™€œHot™€ lights staying on. We tried all the suggestions and ended up having to schedule service. Tech made a trip out in a couple of days to get the model and serial number that was given to the dispatcher on initial call so he could order parts. Tech returned 11 days later with parts only to find that the control board had been installed incorrectly from the factory and had been arcing inside the unit. Rather than replacing parts he remounted the control board and put it back together less one metal shield like part (said we didn™€™t need it) checked to be sure all burners came on and left. We didn™€™t feel comfortable with his finding regarding the arcing and called customer service asking for a new one. We were told it wasn™€™t necessary and the best they would be willing to do is extend our warranty for another 6 months. Before the end of the call we let Felecia know that the ™€œHot™€ light is still on and it™€™s cool to the touch. We got an email later in the day stating their warranty is for repair only unless deemed unrepairable and since the unit is working they would still only offer the extended 6 month warranty. We purchased all GE appliances for our new home over $2,000. If our house catches on fire and burns down they can™€™t say they weren't warned I™€™ve notified my children and family of this and will NEVER purchase or recommend their products ever again.

Performing Well, but Burners need enlarging

The cooktop performs wonderfully but the burners need to be larger. There are 3 of the same size and I think one needs to be expanded. There are controls are good and I love the quick boiling burners. If I had to buy again, I would have chosen a difference cooktop due to the three smaller burners.

Solid GE Profile cooktop in our new build

We have the GE Profile Collection in our new build (closed in June) and we're happy with the package- the cooktop is great- I don't know that we actually need a 'remote' to operate the range hood, but OK, we'll take it. In our previous home, we had a Samsung cooktop, which was fine, I like that these burners heat up super fast, I like the warmer, and these glass cooktops can be a challenge to clean/shine, this cleans up and shines quickly with the Weiman cooktop cleaner. The controls are great too, overall, we're very happy with the GE Profile Cooktop.

This is our 3rd GE Profile cooktop. It was installed less than 2 months ago. Our previous 2 were great. This one is not the same. We have already had to have the large burner unit replaced due to a faulty sensor causing the HOT indicator to remain on at all times. None of the burners heat properly. It takes ages to heat up and anything less than 3/4 full hot does not even melt butter. I did most of my cooking on a leverl 3 or 4 (out of 10 levels) on my previous cooktops. Not an option on this one.

Controls not user friendly

Love the all-smooth top especially for cleaning but the controls are hard to use. Having to hold your finger a certain way to get the right touch is not easy and if your hands are wet, impossible. This unit replaced a similar one which caught on fire ( wires melted). The replacement had a different configuration and my husband had to modify the drawer below it to make it fit. We have not had good luck with our GE appliances. We purchased 100% GE when we built our new home in 2021 and have had issues with the washer, the microwave (twice ) and then the cooktop in less than 3 years.

Worst appliance for cooking ever. The controls are not intuitive and work only when the sun, moon, and northern star allign, shutting off randomly when you look at the stove askance. The induction is loud, like a table top vacuum, and only works with pans made by an obsucre monastery in Nepal. Good luck using regular steel, cast iron, or other lackluster pans, the stove will make lots of noise then shut off in protest at the subpar materials you wish to cook with. The controls are laid out in a square but the burners are in an L so one just has to guess which control does what, not that they work anyways. Worst appliance I have seen in years, seems like something that Sears would have sold to ensure their demise.

I'm a retired GE VP; this is the worst product I've owned. All of my products are GE, but this cooktop is very defective. It chips easily, and now the corner has broken off. The quality is very poor. In less than two years, the ceramic top has chipped twice, and now the corner is broken off.

Broken and didn™€™t honor warranty

We bought the GE profile 30™€ cooktop and had it installed. It didn™€™t work properly, it would cook slower than it should, it wouldn™€™t allow us to use more than one burner at a time, and sometimes burners just would randomly not work. We have had multiple service tech visits. They tried to repair it and it didn™€™t work so they said it needed to be replaced. GE would not replace it even though it hadn™€™t been a year since it was installed. They offered to sell us a new one at a discount. We were told on the phone that the warranty would be honored but then they didn™€™t do it. Just mixed messages and lots of back and forth and time wasted. The customer service hasn™€™t been good to say the least. I will not be purchasing GE kitchen products going forward. I have used cheaper induction cooktops from less well know brands that have worked amazingly. Now I guess I™€™m stuck with a partially functioning cooktop or have to replace on my own.

I ordered this one sight unseen, my fault. I told the sales person my only requirement was no knobs. She said this was the only model without. I should have gone with another brand. Not happy with GE appliances anymore, quality has really gone down.

The cooktop is 3 weeks old. The unit works well for all aspects of cooking. Our issue is the surface. We have been extremely careful cleaning the top with the recommended cook top cleaner. The circles of two burners have shown signs of wear. Our friend is an appliance installer and said the new imperfections are under the glass and not on top. We were told nothing can be done, so now we have a cooktop that looks as old as our 10yr old top we replaced.

So far, I like the cooktop. I cannot yet speak to durability, or whether the electronic controls will have persistent problems. That's my only concern about this unit. I ordered one and the electronic controls did not work right out of the box. It had to be exchanged and re-installed, but the new one works great so far! I do like the varying temperatures of the different burners, and the sync function to use a griddle with two burners connected.

GE Profile Cooktop

Only had the cooktop for a day but so far so good. Would like to increase the sound (beep) but can't find where to do that. Love the touch surface instead of knobs!

Basic features. Just want it to heat properly.

Hope it lasts longer than the unit it is replacing. Had multiple issues with the regulators. The only reason i went with GE is because the rough opening is the same. I didn't want to modify the opening in the quartzite counter top.

The GE cooktop is great as it is large enough with appropriate spacing. We replaced our GE profile stove with the cooktop and a double oven. GE makes good stuff.
