Very first time I used my new dryer I was totally impressed at how QUIET it was. The next day I used it and when I started it, I heard all of this rumbling ~ womp, womp, womb ~ and I could not find a reason upon checking to make sure the dryer was not up against anything to cause this noise. I asked my dealer about it and it was suggested I call Speed Queen to get service. Well, Speed Queen is quite busy and it takes hours upon hours to get to speak to someone or even get a call back. I gave up a couple of times and eventually I did get to speak to someone. They contacted someone in Lufkin, Texas to call me but I already know this serviceman does not come down to my area in Texas any longer. But, I waited for him to call anyway. Just as I expected, he was still not coming down here. I called Speed Queen back and the only suggestion was for me to go on their website and search for a serviceman. I was stunned, I thought my Speed Queen people would have a list of people who can service their products in my area. So, I am still listening to the womp, womp, womp ~ which does go away after a bit and I do not hear the machine after the womp, womp, womp seems to work itself out. I have not gone through the list of service people and called anyone. I do like my dryer except for the fact that it only has two TIMED settings ~ 30 minutes or 60 minutes. I like to dry some things just about 15 minutes and take the things out and hang them up to dry. I suppose I could set the timer on my phone to remind me to go back and get the things out ~ there IS the Pet Hair Setting that runs for 10 minutes, but it has no heat. I like to clean below the lint screen but boy is that a big pain. You have to have a screw driver to remove the piece that holds the lint screen and then you need to have a cannister vacuum and a long, flexible flat crevice tool to get beyond the lint screen area. I have NO idea how dog hair gets beyond that lint screen which is also hard to clean out. I cannot do it with my fingers as my old fingers do not bend like they used to. I have to use my Dust Buster to try & get lint out of the screen pocket. Ok ~ I guess that's about it.

The dryer had an issue where it quit heating. The process to schedule a rep a ir was easy but you have to have your info such as exact model and serial number handy. SQ utilizes a very competent repair firm in my area. Professionally diagnosed and fixed within short time, minor inconvenience.

The DC5004WG is a quality dryer. Love the solid feel, no movement or rocking. Great drying time. Only issue, I haven't received a connection hose for the steam boost. Installer never returned to install.

LOVE!!! This dryer. The upgrades on this dryer are fabulous! It gets wrinkles out and removes pet hair👏🏻👏🏻There is no play in the knobs and it doesn't burn my clothing like the previous dryer I had.

This is the worst dryer I've ever owned. I am continually worried it is a fire hazard. I only use the delicate cycle and it still scorches clothes. Speed Queen says there is nothing wrong with it. I've had this grate replaced once already. I regret this purchase. Search online and you will find many with the same complaint and no help from Speed Queen.

Dryer has been broken for 5 weeks. We purchased it from Swift appliance in Georgetown SC. They never said anything about them not being able to service it and sent us to Myrtle Beach Appliance. It took 2 weeks for them to come look at it and it's going on 3 weeks now waiting for them to come back to repair it. They said parts are on back order. For as much as this dryer cost, I would have thought it would have lasted longer than 5 months. The service is terrible.

I absolutely love the Speed Queen Dryer (I already had the Speed Queen Washer), not so much the dealer (Berger Appliance in Hawthorne N.Y.) that sold it to us. The delivery included the installation however the delivery staff had no idea how to install it. They merely needed to remove the green jumper wire before plugging it into the socket and couldn't figure it out. We had to call our electrician up for a service call to get the dryer going. It was ridiculous to need to pay an additional fee for the stores neglect in not hiring qualified delivery staff.

I am so disappointed with my purchase of the Speed Queen Dryer DC5004WE. The auto-sensing doesn't fully dry clothes. Hoods and waistbands on hoodies, waistbands and pockets on pants, and more come out damp even when set to REGULAR-DRY-AUTO SENSING. It is so frustrating to have to put my clothes back in again and reset the dryer. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a timer option, but there isn't! The only timed dry options are 30 and 60 minutes. I wish I could set it to any amount of time. Even having a 45 minute option would be nice. And you can't see how much time is left in the cycle. I spent so much money on this dryer and I hate it. I wish I could return it and get something less expensive with a timer. Also, because the lint trap is inside the dryer, clumps of lint get stuck to my clothes as I pull them out. Don't buy this dryer.

Overpaid for a product that will last 30 years with minimal repairs. However, I miss my old dryer with its prescheduled timer. I have to dry my clothes 2-3 times per load and then i have water on the floor from the humidity. the laundry room is extremely hot during use and it makes so much noise. Not energy efficient at all.

I absolutely LOVE my dryer. Nice and big. Really love the lent bin. Easy to clean out. I use a dryer sheet that the installer suggested me to use. Works great. I have a Speed Queen Washer too. Would not give up either one. My daughter was the one who suggested me to get the washer a few years back. Never going back to any other brand. When my 25 year of dryer went out I knew I was going to follow suit with a Speed Queen.

This Speed Queen washer & dryer replaced a cheap washer & dryer I regretted buying almost immediately.
When the cheap washer died I did my research and ended up buying Speed Queen. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for delivery and had to wash my clothes at my local laundromat. I noticed the laundromat used Speed Queen washer and dryers. What more can I say?

I purchased this dryer because of brand recognition. The only thing I wasn't aware of was the steam feature. I feel that is an unnecessary addition to the machine. I would preferred Speed Queen just have a basic dryer. Also, get rid of the electronics and just have simple controls. Otherwise I'm totally satisfied with this product.

We have a lot of dirty laundry because we have large dogs who are always muddy. They sleep on couch covers that need constant cleaning. We are also gardeners and have to wash our clothes frequently. Additional, we have daily regular wash. This washer is wonderful. Simple controls. Simple to use. Love it!

I am disappointed by a few things with this dryer. The lint catcher is not catching as much lint as my last dryer that I loved. I loved Electrolux. It lasted 9 years and I hope this one lasts longer for the price. I did have a Maytag that also did not get as much lint off the clothes as Electrolux. The speed queen usually does the job of drying but every few loads one load is wadded up all together, not dry, and very wrinkly. I have to fluff all the clothes by hand and dry again and hope it doesn't wad them up again. The dryer vent on our roof is showing some lint being blown out. I wrote to customer service and they said to clean the vent, add different types of clothes, and try dryer balls. If I didn't have these issues with Electrolux, something is lacking in this speed queen. This is a new house with no blockages in the dryer vent.

Our 2-year old imported dryer did not dry worth a darn. It generally took, regardless of mode or timer, dried clothes in 2~3 hours! We started looking for a dryer that would dry fast, made in USA and was durable and decided on Speed Queen.

We had a Maytag dryer for 30+years, We bought this machine because we were told of its durability and that it is the 'next Maytag'. We picked this one because of that, and the limited amount of electronics.
(1) We had to call the dealer within a week of purchasing it because it wouldn't turn on. (2) You can't depend that if you put something on Automatic dry that the clothes will in fact dry. I know the manual said something about towels not completely drying on Automatic, but come on now - that's ridiculous. Anything put on Automatic dry should dry completely - this indicates to me there is something wrong with your sensor or your sensor technology.
(3) Let's say you open the door during time-drying and your find the clothes are dry. When you try to shut the machine off with the door open. or take the clothes out, close the door, and hold down he Start/Pause button for three seconds, the dryer doesn't shout off - it starts running again! Then you have to hold down the Start/Pause button for three seconds AGAIN to shut the machine off. Illogical programming and frustrating.
(4) Why did you choose to have 30 and 60 minute time-dry intervals? Why not have a time-dry dial that does from 0 to 60 minutes like our old Maytag and you choose how long to make it go? Can't tell you how many time a load isn't dry after 30 minutes and you know you need maybe 5-10 minutes and you have no choice but to choose 30 minutes again. We've had to set a timer on the dryer, choose the time we want, and then come get the clothes out - AND go through the frustration with the Start/Pause button to turn the machine off (see #3 above).
(5) You practically have to be standing next to the machine to hear the beeper go off when the dryer stops. It is very faint - you should be able to hear the beeper go off when your are in, at the least, in an adjacent room.
This is all exacerbated by the fact the machine is expensive compared to most competitors. We were willing to pay extra for this machine to get the 'next Maytag'. Has been a disappointment.

I now enjoy doing laundry. My speed queen washer completes in 30 minutes, wonderful, and my clothes are cleaner than they have been in years. The dryer is also very efficient, drying complete in 30-60 minutes. The auto-detect dry feature dries the clothes/laundry completely.

I was so excited to get my new dryer and completely disappointed. If you'd like a dryer that you have to run 3-4 times to completely dry small loads I'd highly recommend. Otherwise buy anything else!

I had been using a front loader. Those things take FOREVER and don't get clothes as clean as this SPEEDY Speed Queen. I do a lot of washing. This washer gets it done in 1/3 the time.

We've owned this set for 6 months and are extremely happy with it. It doesn't have all the high-tech features-and that's exactly why we love it. After two front-load washers that failed and developed that awful mildew smell, we decided to go back to basic, proven technology. This set is solid, dependable and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Sometimes simple really is better. Spend the extra money and invest in quality-it pays off.

This appliance epitomizes the phrase "you get what you pay for". Everything about this dryer screams quality. Solid feel, and you can tell all the parts and components are top notch. We have also noticed a significant improvement on the drying times when compared to our old GE machine. The steam and wrinkle resistant feature work well, as well as the pet hair removal setting. Just love this unit, and when our current GE washer needs replaced, you can bet we will buy Speed Queen!

I can't say I am happy with my purchase of my Speed Queen washer and dryer in January.
My dryer does not work as well as my old whirlpool dryer. (I was replacing my excellent 30-year-old whirlpool washer and dryer.) The auto sensing feature is worthless. It does not sense when my sheets are bone dry and keeps overheating them. It does not sense that my towels or cotton socks are still slightly damp and stops drying them. I have tried all the different options and I am not happy.. I will have to get used to only using the 60 minutes or 30 minutes dry cycle,

Dryer delivered. Appliance company set it up and started it and it started up and he shut it off. I did a load in the washer and when I moved it to the dryer it would not run. It just hummed. Called where I bought the dryer and they set up an appointment for me with a repair company. A week later they came out and said it had a bad motor and it had to be replaced. Said it would be 2 - 3 weeks. I complained and Appliance place changed repair company and they came out and replaced the motor the next week. So I did not have a dryer for 2 weeks. Dryer works well with new motor. Just not happy I spent this kind of money and the Dryer wouldn't work brand new out of the box. Then I also had to wait 2 weeks from the time it was delivered until I could actually use it.
