Wanted to love it but is a big repair headache

I have had my Electrolux dryer for 3 years now. In the first 18 months I had problems and 3 different repair guys out to 'fix' the issue only to have it keep happening. All were covered under warranty but luckily the third repair guy called Electrolux while he was looking at it and asked about know issues and Voila! There was a known issue with the fan that sits below the lint trap....now why wouldn't that have been told to the first two when I described the problem? I had to argue with the rep from electrolux to have it covered under warranty as well because it was over 12 mo since purchase, yet I had 2 prior similar issues with it. Now I'm just about to hit year 3 and my dryer wont start. I think it's just my door switch, but it is ridiculous that I continue to have problems with this machine after 3 years. I really wanted to like this dryer. I had upgraded at the time and I had heard great things about electrolux. But with as many problems as I have had, I would never recommend this dryer.

Dryer stopped working after 2 years

We've been extremely happy with our 517 series washer and dryer, however suddenly our dryer stopped working. It's been just about 2 years since we purchased the product and when my wife hit the pause on a cycle the machine stopped, after adding another item to the load she pressed start again, but it wouldn't run. We unplugged it and let it stay off for a few minutes then turned it back on. It seems like every function is operable, but the time on the display does not change when we select different cycles. I ran the diagnostics and error code E91 came up on display, which is a communications error on the electronic board. I'm extremely disappointed that a 2 year old appliance would fail like this, I just hope this is covered by warranty. Will be in touch with Electrolux to figure this out. So, until further updates, this appliance gets 1 star for poor dependability.

Great features but not sure about all the settings yet. I always do use delicate on my last dryer but close never seem to get dried with this setting so I have to use the normal. I do like the wrinkle release but I hope things don™™t shrink. Still getting used to it.

I™™m building an apartment in my basement. I™™m not a very tight budget. I found these Electrolux washer dryer and refrigerator at a Bargain Center. I decided to buy them even though they were seconds. Electrolux came through and fix the front of the washer as it was crushed in and wouldn™™t close. The companies did buy their product and fixed the washer by replacing the front door.

Bought washer and dryers together after the old one was dying. Amazing technology in Ekectrolux products that beat the fancy european products. The best part i like are the quick select options for simple fast washing and drying but when you need wrinkle guard and steam like fancy features then its on you fingertips with intuitive interface.

We purchased the washer/dryer set when our previous set was going out.. I like the ease of use. The size is nice. The only negative I have is the washer door is very hard to close. Not sure if this is an installment issue because the installation crew did have to reverse the direction it closes. But, other than that, so far no problems. I can't believe you have to use so much bleach to clean the deep clean the washer...it's a little strange, 8 times as much as my previous one. All in all, I have been happy with the set.

I couldn't be more pleased. Hands down this is the best set that I've ever owned in 35 years. The dryer is cool and quiet and the clothes are almost wrinkle free - even after sitting a bit. Not only that, I think the chrome and glass door are pretty - at least for a dryer :)

The #1 thing I wanted in a unit was capacity, and this machine can was my king-size winter comforter with no problem.
