Obnoxiously Loud

I purchased this dishwasher in late 2019. Overall it works well but its been horribly loud recently while running. It sounds like a motor issue. I also searched this issue and that seems to be the problem. Its still under warranty and Ive only had it for 6 years and it should not be having problems. When I called for a technician the lady said theyd charge me over $300. Such a disappointment.

Purchased this in 2019. Ran fine for 2 years then had to have the panel replaced. Then earlier this year had to have it serviced. Now a few weeks ago I had a serviceman come out to tell me the motor needs replacing to the tune of $600. So I purchased a new one and had this removed.

Problems with pump/motor assembly

I purchased this dishwasher 4 years ago and the pump/motor assembly has become defective. Ive seen multiple examples online of people having the same issue so this does not appear to be an isolated incident. It would cost around $300 to have someone repair the issue. I could easily replace it myself but the part costs over $200. I would rather invest that money in a new dishwasher but not an LG. The average life expectancy of a dishwasher is around 10 years so this is very disappointing.

Short lived product appalling after sales service

Ours is four years old and has worked well but It has now broken with a motor failure. The motor is supposed to be under a ten year guarantee but it has been impossible to talk to LG about it. After endless repetitive phone calls LG told us they didnt service our area and referred us to recommended companies all of whom had poor Yelp ratings. They also told us they would supply an approval letter to use with our own engineers but despite multiple attempts they never provided it. So we got the 5 star company in to check it. The motor needs to be replaced as does the controller board and other components. A bill of $700 for parts and labor. The motor is $300 unless we can get the non-existent letter from LG. The support experience has been AWFUL. The produce is good but should last longer than 4 years and there is no excuse for the appalling after sales service. Were going to buy a cheap and cheerful replacement for less than the repair cost and Im willing to bet it will last longer than 4 years.

Motor burned up after 3 years of use 2/26/20....crazy.....never getting LG dishwasher again Customer service kept us on hold for 1/2 hour and then told us sorry you didnt buy extra warranty that covers repairs after 1 year of purchase for the LE error code motor trouble. You need to find someone to look at dishwasher and then repairman contacts LG for the part. Hassle to get someone to look at doing repair and the part may be refurbished....poor service and quality. 10 year warranty on direct drive motor.

The direct drive on my dishwasher broke after about 2 years. LG REQUIRES that a certified technician check the unit to see if its truly broken. Of course it was. After the initial inspection we had to wait over a month to get the technician to come back and fix the unit. After he did the unit did wash sort of but wouldnt heat giving us an HE error. Trying to get LG to make the technician to come back and check it out was like pulling teeth. After hours on the phone I finally got someone at LG to call the technician and make them come back. Sure enough the certified technician had neglected to plug in the resistance heating on the bottom of the direct drive. Overall a painful experience. I have a cheap Amana dishwasher in my basement that hasnt given me a lick of trouble in the same time period. Wanna guess which brand Ill buy if I have to purchase a new dishwasher????

Pump failure at 3.5 years

We bought this dishwasher with as part of a 4pc set and had it professionally installed in our newly constructed home. In the first year it over flowed and spilled water on our new hardwood floors twice. We assumed it was our fault that the dishes werent clean enough and food debris was the cause. Next it doesnt dry the dishes very well at all. We use rinse aid as required but dishes still come out wet. We have to have to hand dry them before they can be put away. Last month there was smoke and an electrical smell coming from the bottom front panel and it wouldnt drain. We called LG and they told me a technician would be in touch. After 3 weeks of back and forth a technician finally came out and made the repairs. To LGs credit the part and labor was covered. However the experience to get the repair made was terrible. The other appliances have been fine but these are the last LG appliances we will own.

Purchased this dishwasher along with LG fridge oven and microwave as a set back on early 2020. Haven had a complaint on any of the products thus far other than the dishwasher where the outer part of the door up by the handle began cracking and the top rack silverware sprayer stopped working. LG customer service has been great and we are currently in the process for locating a servicer to come out and make the repairs.

Broken lasted 3 years. And there are no authorized repair shops in North Seattle to fix it. Cleaning was below average compared to others I owned. Bottom rack inefficient layout for plates and bowls never could get it full with all the configurations I tried. Online function sometimes worked but its not capable of giving diagnostic info like what is broken?

Weve had this dishwasher for about 3.5 years. We like the way it cleans dishes pots and pans etc. We also like the top knife rack. One drawback is that both racks developed rust through areas in a few areas. However LG covered these under the five year warranty. Altogether were pleased.

So I would say as far as wifi connected dishwashers go this is probably half way there. I cant lets say put a tablet in it and start it from my phone but I can know when its done by a nifty notification and download extra cycles. Soon well be fully integrated. Where I took off a star is the quality of materials weve already replaced the basket due to corrosion and the front panel cracked because of weak matreials.

Great for one year

I purchased the dishwasher about a year and a half ago. It worked great for the first year and 4 months. It started making a noise in the middle of a cycle and smoke started coming from the bottom of the dishwasher. After two trips from the repair service I am without a dishwasher.

We need a solve for the power button location or touch. We are constantly hitting the button unintentionally. Also my dishes are soaking wet when open it in the morning after running it. I wish I could figure out how to have them dry or if there was a vent that they could dry overnight.

Ive had this dishwasher for a couple years now and after fighting with it from soon after we got it I am ready to get a new-DIFFERENT- one. Several issues: turns on too easy when leaned up against the huge instruction book that comes with it- does not fully explain functions and problems its hard to find what youre lookin for in the book and what youre looking for could be in more than one place in the book I had originally started using a certain setting for washing but then the dishwasher started not functioning right and I was only able to use a different setting After a couple years the lock switch wasnt working correctly and it wouldnt run at all so we had to have that fixed.

This machine does a great job washing dishes has lots of options on the cycles. It does tend to leave dishes wet even after running the dry cycle. I also think it doesnt hold as many dishes as some of my past washers. Ive had it only 3 weeks so still learning to load it.

We have had our LG dishwasher less than 3 years now. We purchased the extended warranty from Home Depot when we bought it. Within the first year it broke down and had to be repaired under the manufacture warranty. It recently broke down again and it took over a month to get it repaired. the dishwasher does a decent job cleaning when its working. The wash time is very long and its not the quietest. But through this process Ive discovered there are very few repair places authorized to work on LG appliances. I will not but LG again after this experience.

Multiple repairs but washes well

We use our dishwasher at least once a day being a family of 5. This machine does a good job getting the dishes clean. However we had to have it repaired within the first year under the manufacturer warranty. And now with it 3 years old were having it repaired again. We purchased the extended warranty with Home Depot. Unfortunately its been almost 3 weeks and its still not fixed. Very long process using the warranty. So its a good dishwasher but has needed multiple repairs in 3 years.

This is my first LG dishwasher. I am extremely happy with it First of all. the dishes come out sparkling clean even on those with dried on food. But I must admit the cutlery tray is my favorite feature. The digital display on the control panel makes it easy to see how much time is left on a cycle. The owners manual is easy to read and understand directions and icons are clear. Last but not least I appreciate the fact that this machine is super quiet. As I said this is my first LG dishwasher but I will never buy another brand.

Doesnt dry dishes completely

I bought this dishwasher as part of a appliance bundle and wish I had done a little more research. I completely renovated my kitchen an this is my first ever dishwasher and iIm Very Disappointed Dishwasher doesnt dry the dishes completely and the dishwasher is frequently wet which causes a smell. Huge disappointment

Purchased this about 8 months ago. This is the best dishwasher I have ever had. It gets my dishes so clean and shiny. I have been replacing my appliances one at a time with LG products. So pleased with everything so far.

I had this for a few months now. Cleans dishes and drys them well. Several cycle options love the quick cycle when I need dishes or have another load to put on. They still come out clean. App tell s you when its finish when you need to do a clean cycle. Also able to download another wash cycle.

I have used this dishwasher maybe less than 30 times and the latch does not allow it it work. Still waiting for someone from LG to call me back. Because odmf a fire I had to get ALL new appliances. Got all LG. Hmmm.

Ever since day one this dishwasher has never just started. I had a serviceman come out and tell me nothing was wrong. I called and no one could resolve the problem. Here is the problem Every time I start it it counts down from 54321 and then nothing happens. I have to unplug it and wait and try again. Sometimes that works and sometimes I have to do it again and again. I read the manual and it is no help. LG service is quick to have a service call with a fee involved. OVERALL this product SUCKS and Im am extremely unhappy with it and LG.

This dishwasher is everything it claims to be. Has an awsome design and works wonderfully. It also looks pretty sweet. The only thing I wish you could do is control.it from the app. Would probably seldom use that but would be a nice option to be able to turn on the dishwasher from the couch. Other than that I am very impressed with the quality and functionality of this dishwasher.
