Extremely poor warranty service

Middle of summer refrigerator fails just into its 6th year up to then loved it. Call Warner Stellen sellers who sold it to us that it is a known issue because all the models akin to this one were originally built with known bad condenser units - a problem LG has known about for at least four years and has kept quiet about to avoid lawsuits and/or forced recalls. They told us that we had to go through LG for service on this item.
Called LG. They demanded a credit card and a blank charge of $500 before they would even talk about service of any kind. Then they arranged a service call. We tried to tell them we were seniors with one of us diabled and we had expensive medication that had to be kept refrigerated. They werent even the slightest bit sympathetic and it didnt change anything about when wed get the service call.
It took the the service sub 8 days to get here. Nice kid learned a few things from him like 1 LG sets their service call order if it looks like its going to be a condenser issue. 2 LG will not supply any inventorY for these service guys to have on hand that right they send the guy out to do a five minute check then they have to order the part which comes maybe in 7 to 10 business day. Of course by this time we were heading into Labor Day weekend. 3 he told us that everyone so far had the whole cost under the extended warranty that LG put on with no notification to anyone as I found out later and that no one had the charges put through on their CC.
It took 3+ weeks from start to finish. Despite frantic borrowing of coolers and even a mini-fridge along with daily trips for ice know how expensive ice gets on holiday weekends? know how hard it is to even find ice on holiday weekends? and missing the family reunion we lost over half our food and $2600 in medication
LG still charged our card $499.99. We called and asked for a complaint process but were told their wasnt any and they would not let us talk to anyone else about this issue personally Ill be surprised if this review gets published -- in the end they hung up on my wife.
I dont expect it will do much good but Ill be filing complaints with the State Attorney General the BBB and anywhere else that tracks consumer complaints Angies List Facebook etc and of course despite owning half a dozen LG products I wont purchase from them again nor will I be shy about discouraging people from buying their products.
All in all it took 3+ weeks to fix and charged for it even under warranty. Will file complaint with State Attorney General and BBB and others. Will not buy LG products again.

I had to wait a week for a new compressor. And I was then told it was someone elses.. Mine didnt arrive until that Monday until 6PM so that meant I would have had to wait until Tuesday . That would have been 12 days without a refrigerator. It just seems that no one cared the part comes from Alabama. There are no service centers in the area which I find hard to believe. And only one technician in my area.. something needs to change..

After having this refrigerator for just 6 years the compressor stopped. I had to RUSH to get it repaired at a cost of over $1200.00. Almost the cost of the whole refrigerator
If it is truly under warranty why am I paying for the labor???

I brought this refrigerator five years ago and already the compressor wore out.the compressor was covered by the warranty but I had to pay 621 to have it repaired.This refrigerator was only 5. Years oldthis should not have occurred

This refrigerator is great. I have not had any issues with keeping food cold and the freezer temps is well maintained.
I like the configuration of the drawers with the large bottom drawer. I like the freezer pull out and basket feature. My only issue is that there is mold on the casket around the refrigerator doors. It is not on the inside of the door casket but on the outside so not sure why it is there. It is up and down the entire length of the door so not as though food residue accumulated in a spot. It is impossible to clean off and would need to be replaced.

Well - I had to spend $600 to have the guts of it replaced after about 4 years.
Apparently LG is manufacturing these refrigerators with defects that have not been fixed according to the tech who did the work. Wish I had known that before I bought it

This refrigerator performed satisfactorily for over four years before failing without warning. We are in the middle of a warranty procedure and after about ten days since reporting our situation to LG so far have not received acceptable response from their technician staff.

Purchased 2016. Worked good for few years. Ice builds up in the very bottom of the freezer and eventually water leaks out onto the floor. Like a Glacier forming few inches daily of ice until it becomes water at front on floor. What does LG have to say about this? Purchased extended warranty but thy would not fix claiming it was a pre-existing condition. Stripping around doors is fraying. Still running but chopping ice weekly.

Ive had this fridge for 5 years and the freezer drawer wasnt sealing properly so everything was icing inside the compressor broke and the evaporator coil was fully blocked. They dont make fridges like they used to.

Weve had this refrigerator for more than 7 1/2 years and absolutely love it. Imagine our distress when it started making very unusual noises We waited for approximately 2 weeks to see if the noises would go away. They did not. We cleaned the back of existing dust but that did not fix the problem. We also spent a lot of time scanning the internet to see if there was anyone that had experienced similar noises and were able to diagnose and fix the problem. Still no luck. We finally called LG and spoke with customer service. They were unable to really diagnose the problem so we asked to speak with a technician. During the transfer we were disconnected We thought wed have to start the process all over again when the phone rang. Believe it or not LG actually called us back After conferring with the tech we went through the process to enable the self-diagnostic feature built into the refrigerator and send the info over the phone line to the tech. After a few minutes of waiting for the tech to analyze the information she came back on the line and asked us if our icemaker was hooked up. When we answered no she asked us to check if the icemaker switch was on after directing us to the location of the switch. The switch was on. We turned the switch off and have not had any funny noises since By the way the icemaker switch is located in the top of the lower freezer section. Evidently after loading the freezer we inadvertently stacked items too high and when the freezer wouldnt close something turned on the icemaker switch We would have never known or figured out the problem without the help of LG. Great company great product and really great service.

After 5 years compresor die still have given us good service during operating years. In general all fridge in the present are kind of garbage on duration. Now we are claiming the warranty but is kind of hard to work with LG even the tecnichian that verified the fridge told us the same. The fridge has good space so that is a plus my bad review is the duration of the fridge and the service of LG that is not that good.

Bought this 8 years ago. Wish I hadnt. It stopped cooling and no one will work on it. The call line was a waste of time. Had to buy a new fridge - not an LG because no one will work on it. The only reason I gave one star was because it was required.

This refrigerator is just the right size to fit into our cabinetry and the storage space inside is great. The downside is that the compressor went out after only 4 1/2 years. This is not what I expected from an LG appliance. Hopefully that problem has been eliminated in refrigerators manufactured more recently.

We bought this LFC25760ST model over 15 years ago...maybe longer Its still running like a champion. Were just now looking to replace the door seals. We never hooked up the ice maker so weve always gone old school and filled the ice trays manually. Thats one less thing to break We pull the fridge once a year to vacuum behind it. Otherwise its been set up and running well ever since we bought it. Thank LG How about some door seals for this review?

I am so glad I got the extra 5 cubic feet This is the most excited I have ever been about a fridge in my life I love it It is quiet and spacious and finally feels roomy. Went from the 24 to 29 Cubic feet and it has made a huge difference Fits perfectly in the same spot. Im telling all my friends come see my new fridge

this refrigerator broke on me after six years. the onboard diagnostics were useless and reported no problem even though all the food was going bad. after spending several hours on hold with LG support and many back and forth emails they refused to honor my warranty. the upshot is that i bought another unit from a more reliable manufacturer and will not be buying LG products of any kind ever again.

After second failure of the compressor plus the condenser we had to throw the refrigerator away. Also LG never informed us of the class action lawsuit that was filed to compensate for these issues.

My LG French Door refrigerator was just over 5 years old when it stopped working. Food spoilage and a several day wait for the service technician to come. It turned out to be the compressor and since the class action lawsuit covered the compressor for 10 years we had to pay for the service call and labor not a cheap fix at all. The unit is working although it now sounds like it is running all of the time it didnt do that before makes me wonder if theres a problem.

I have had thus refrigerator for nearly 5 years. It does the job but the plastic containers in the door and the shelves are of a poor quality.
I have replaced them already and they are either cracked or broken again. I have chosen not to replace them again as it is too costly.
