We had to buy a new LG microwave because our 3 Year old LG unit failed even thou it had a 10 year warranty because repair would have cost $349 in labor charges new one cost $379.

I bought this microwave on the recommendation of a friend and I am glad I did. It is large enough for holiday meal sized plates of food or casseroles and it can handle my large bowls too. The controls are easy to understand. The timing seems to work with almost every recipe so far I have not burned anything. Best of all it is so easy to clean. My only critique is I am seeing the labels on the front the start button in particular starting to fade. But if that is the worst its not so bad.

Microwave oven went outmagnetron 3 years after I bought it. Didnt get a new one for 2 years Now they say I have to pay for someone to fix it Will cost $250-350 to repair. Wont buy any more LG products

We Miss Our Microwave

Unreliable Repair Service 6/24/2024

We have love our microwave oven we enhanced our security with a 5-year protection plan. Then early in June after almost 5 years of excellent operation the oven quit. A serviceman came diagnosed problem ordered part which has arrived set a return appointment 3 weeks later AND DID NOT SHOW UP Trying to set up another repair appointment has been a HORIBLE NIGHTMARE and totally unsuccessful..

If there was the option to give negative stars I would. Purchased to replace a 15-year-old Whirlpool Signature series over-the-cooktop that was still working fine but we liked the extendable vent on this one. 3 years into ownership the microwave dies. I call support they diagnose the issue as a dead magnetron. Good news - it has 10 years warranty - Yey for LG Right? WRONG Forwarded to the service team. Dispatch asks for $350 to send a technician to replace it. But we get a free part You dont say - $350 to replace a warranted part on a $399 appliance??? Can I get the free part and install it myself? Yeah good luck with that... Amazon delivers the spare part overnight for $40 an hour later I have a working microwave again. And a firm decision to NEVER EVER EVER purchase an LG product again. Now every time I walk by the large sticker on the front of my $1000+ LG washer that states the motor comes with a 10-year warranty I get shivers...
