Bought a washer/dryer with a pedestal washer from Home Depot. Loved the units until the beginning of 2024. Drawer on the pedestal locked up. Have been trying for 30 days to get service. Had surgery beginning of the month and not able to get my receipt so LG refuses to initiate the service call Ive requested. Lousy service and customer support.

This little powerhouse has been a game changer I used to wash my undergarments and delicates in a garment bag in the regular washing machine and I always felt like it was such a waste for such a small load. Now I can wash my delicates in the sidekick at the same time as my regular wash or just whenever I need to wash them since it operates independently of the regular washing machine. And dont let the small size fool you because it is a powerhouse It washes just as well as the regular large machine and it is much quieter than youd expect I love this sidekick so much that we bought a second one to go under the dryer Yes you can put one under your dryer as well

We used the product all the time and liked it. But the hinge is terribly designed. It broke on one of the sides after about two years of regular use. Its a little plastic piece that no longer allows the lid to close and its effectively been unused now for almost 2 years. Its not worth the money.

Bad Washer Quality

I purchased this sidekick for my newborns clothings. The machine showed error code of PE after 2 months of using. The repair team came and replaced the mother board and water pressure sensor. they could not fix it and return is not an option. Bad experience.

DO NOT BUY THIS if you live in a farmhouse or in the country. Mice find that the sidekick housing is the PERFECT place to live and it is almost impossible to get rid of them. There is a hole in the bottom of the housing that they can squeeze under the machine and up into the motor. Finally was able to trap one outside the machine last year but one this year didnt find my traps and after weeks of Groundhog Day level paranoia I finally set out some poison and it had the AUDACITY to die INSIDE the motor of the sidekick and now my whole house smells like decaying mouse. And there is no easy way to access that area of the sidekick. Absolute nightmare. Serious regret for buying this. Not worth it even a bit.

Bought this 2 months ago and everything seems to be going great. I was worried that if it wasnt used much it would start to smell musty but so far it hasnt. Its great for when you have just those few items that need washing but not enough for a full load. It isnt meant to be a quick wash. The regular washer has a quick wash feature that takes 15 minutes.

Im coming up on 5 years use. We have used the washer extensively and had no issues until recently. I cleaned the door seal but couldnt get it to fit back in properly which caused the leak. We had to call for service to stop the leak. The service person reset the seal but it still leaked. He eventually had to adjust the washer to stop the leak. I bought the washer at a time when we needed extra capacity in addition to a full washer and it has served its purpose well.

Ive had the sidekick washer for a couple years now and generally speaking its done a good job. The one major issue I have with it is the quality of the latch on the top cover. It feels like its going to break any day now and a couple of times it did not latch correctly leading to water in my utility room. For the price paid I would honestly have expected this mechanism to be of higher quality. Other than that it does a great job supplementing my main washer for small loads.

While its nice to have the capability of washing 2 loads at a time OR just one small load there are several negatives for this machine: 1 after running a load you need to allow it to completely dry out which means leaving it pulled out and open creating a hazard in your laundry room - if you dont let it dry out youll end up with a mildew smelling machine 2 it does not have an auto-dispense feature for detergent and fabric softener 3 you cannot use bleach in it 4 although they tried to make the alarm for adding softener very loud you cant hear if youre not in the laundry room so this cycle is constantly missed

I was skeptical initially what value would it add to purchase the pedestal washer along with a regular washer. It was pricey and costs as much as washer. However in long run I was convinced enough looking at the efficiency to run small loads with less water consumption and ease of use . My only cons were price no hot water cleaning only warm water

LG Sidekick has not work since I received it. Tech has been out twice with no resolution. Have been waiting 2 weeks for parts

The washer works well. The features arent quite as fancy as the main washer. The app doesnt do anything on this unit besides diagnostics. If you like the smart features of the main washer like letting you know when the laundry is done youll be missing it with the mini washer. Its great for small loads like delicates and COVID masks. Its also great for small items like childrens blankets or stuffed animals. A word of advice: make sure you get the right unit for the main washer. We had a 3 month ordeal getting the right unit. Check carefully with the salesman to make sure its a compatible size theres a few sizes and color there are multiple colors. This was not LGs fault rather the retailer.

We bought our set because my husband likes to wash rugs which were too much for our older washer. I enjoy being able to wash more than one load at a time with the pedestal washer.

Money well spent on the appliances but I would not recommend the customer service experience with the Home Depot or the LG Delivery Service. I feel I could have save money time and energy purchasing from Lowes and completing self installation.

I love the looks of it and the drying options. I am not impressed with the steam portion yet. It doesnt seem to get wrinkles out so much as set them.
