poorly designed/manufactured drum which failed at 3 years old. normal use. dissapointed and no help from samsung even though it's a known problem.

i was really in love with the machine for 2 years, but now i'm out of warrenty and the common samsung dryer failures have happened.
the control board (dryer spins when off) is easy but costly (you can unplug it then plug it back in or just hit it firmly if you want to limp along until you finally decide to replace the part).
the thermal fuse (board lights up, but won't turn on because of a "filter" code) is the exact opposite with a cheap fuse, but you have to tear the machine down which includes removing the drum.
the set could be amazing if samsung would just figure out their reliability issues.

unit won't stop running even when turned off. samsung doesn't care because it is 6 months out of warranty. i found a lot of postings online that shows this issue is common. if you are going to spend 800 dollars on a dryer, it should last a lot longer.

samsung makes good tv's and decent phones, but they suck at appliances.

I purchased this dryer about a year and a half ago. After reading the manual, I used the eco dry, thinking it was better/more efficient, even though I knew it might seem to take longer to dry clothes. The dry times seemed excessive. I started using other cycles... same issue. Some times even when you open the door you are blasted with extremely humid hot air and condensation built up on/around the door. I requested service call from Samsung. Technician basically informed me that these dryers are a bad design. They circulate the air towards the duct first, rather than the lint trap causing the ducting to require cleaning every other month or so. And I have to keep it pulled out away from the wall to ensure no bends in the duct. Even after regular cleanings, dry times are excessive. So unless you dont mind waiting 2 hours for an average load of laundry to dry, or having to break down loads into smaller loads after washing... dont bother. Washer works well, but I cant use it to full capacity because the drying process takes so long. There is no such thing as doing a quick load of laundry with this dryer.
