Love the microwave (took almost 5 months to get the trim kit)
We bought a Samsung black stainless french door refrigerator, wall oven & dishwasher from Lowe's on May 31, 2017. However, we could not order either the microwave or the matching trim kit that we wanted because Lowe's did not have the part #'s in their system. After calling Samsung direct, we learned that there was nowhere in the US where we could order them. Not at Home Depot, not at Best Buy, not at Nebraska Furniture Mart, not at Sears, not at JC Penny, etc. We checked them all. We finally located them at Abt Electronics in Glenview, IL. Ordered the microwave + trim kit on June 8. Abt said it was a special order and would take up to 14 days to ship. We were pleased at that point because we'd have everything finished by the 4th of July. To make a very long story short, we received the microwave on August 10 and the trim kit on October 18. Not Abt's fault; they were very helpful & kept me up to date throughout the process. It was a Samsung manufacturing delay. All told it took almost 5 months to complete the project.
The installation instructions for the trim kit were poorly written & very difficult to follow. I threw them away & after much cursing and measuring & drilling, I finally got the thing installed. We're very happy with the way the microwave performs and the trim fits perfectly into our wall cutout. We're getting ready to buy a new Samsung black stainless washer & dryer. This time I'll make sure it's something that the retailer has in stock.
